About Us

Campbell College is a British School located to the East of the vibrant city of Belfast.  It is an HMC day and boarding school for boys aged from 3-18 years which was founded in 1894.  Sitting peacefully in a beautiful 100 acre wooded estate it provides a safe and secure environment for all pupils. The Lonely Planet Guide endorses Belfast as being a "city on the rise" and the United Nations cites it as the second safest city in the world and a recent survey found residents of Northern Ireland to be the happiest in the UK.

Currently there are 902 boys who attend the Senior School and 300 students aged 3-11 years who attend the Junior School.  There are 133 boarders in the Senior School with a teacher/pupil ratio of 1:14.  Our community is a rich social and cultural mix, due in large part to the welcome we offer to our international boarding community.

The College has spent some £15m improving facilities in the past 10 years.

  • The Middle School building includes our excellent Art Department and forms the academic base for History, Business Studies and Modern Languages together with an ICT suite and a sports hall. New and refurbished facilities have been provided for ICT, Home Economics, the Library, Study Hall and Sixth Form Centre.
  • The College has also provided 2 all-weather hockey pitches, a running track and 2 new changing rooms to add to its fine array of sporting facilities for rugby, cricket, tennis, soccer, swimming and other indoor sports.
  • The boarding department has been totally refurbished over the past 10 years and this was completed in 2012 with the opening of our new Sixth Form House which has 48 en-suite rooms and related facilities.
  • In 2013 the College opened a new Junior School for pupils aged 5-11 and further improvements to our facilities are planned.
