Our Library

We aim to provide the boys with a collection as varied as their interests.  Our core belief in the importance of reading for pleasure, means shelves are stocked with enough fact and fiction material to keep both keen and reluctant readers happy.  Regular competitions, readathons and book fairs are always well supported and bring a fun element to learning.

Whether they wish to escape into a novel, browse on-line to research topics and new titles, or share non-fiction with their friends, the library aims to cater for all needs and interests.

The boys are always encouraged to share their opinions on what they have read, (whether positive or negative) and unprompted book reviews appear regularly, to be displayed and shared.  Pupils’ recommendations are always listened to and the boys always feel proud when their suggested titles appear on the shelves.

The library instils respect and responsibility with regard to handling and borrowing books.  For the team of librarians in Prep 7, the job of keeping the library fresh, in order and interesting with displays of news, sports and school information is an important one.

Our aim, as always, is to give every child the opportunity to learn and thrive in the best possible environment.  We hope the library will be one of those places.

“My best friend is the man who’ll get me a book I haven’t read.”
Abraham Lincoln

“The more you read, the more things you will know.  The more you learn, the more places you will go.”
Dr Seuss
