Cricket is a popular high profile Summer sport at Campbell College. We are very lucky to have beautiful surroundings in which to play the game. Not only are our facilities good to look at, they are also as high a quality provision as any school can offer. We have a newly laid, high quality cricket square, 6 artificial outdoor practice netting bays and 2 artificial mats for matches. These are backed up by mobile covers, sight screens and an electronic scoreboard to make sure our young players are offered first rate opportunities.
To back up these excellent facilities there are plenty of opportunities for pupils to practice, play and develop their game with each year group having an A and B team and being entered into competitive cups and leagues.
With numerous teaching staff within the school being qualified cricket coaches, as well as additional cricket specific coaches coming into the school for coaching sessions, pupils are offered chances to work on and improve their game, rather than only just getting playing opportunities.

Schools' Cricket Success

Recently, Campbell College won the McCullough League Cup, which is a league format which encompasses the whole cricketing strength of the School and allows each age group to contribute and win points towards the school league structure. This was a great achievement and shows the cricketing strength and depth that the school has.

As well as this league success, other individual age group teams have also had many cup wins over the years.

Individual Representative Honours

Campbell College has a reputation for producing young cricketers with a good pedigree and every year Inter Provincial representative squads regularly contain our players. Further to this, we are glad to say that we regularly have pupils who are selected for Irish International squads.
