Recently Year 8 pupil James Shaw felt the benefits of quick thinking first hand! James, who is a keen sailor, was on his way back to shore when he saw a four year old girl on the jetty without a life jacket. Having informed the little girl to go back to the safety of the pavement, James continued to make his way to shore. Whilst tying up his boat, James heard screams followed by a splash. He turned round out of curiosity and found the little girl in the water. He ran down the jetty where he threw her a lifebuoy and pulled the little girl round to his friend’s boat to safety.

This quick thinking helped save the life of this little girl.
