Library skills teaching
Boys in Year 8 are guided through a Library Skills Programme. This exercise will enable young boys to become independent learners.
Class Visits
Teachers regularly bring their classes to the library especially for project work. This research prepares the student for coursework required for GCSE and A Level subjects.
Library clubs
Reading Club
Once a month we meet to read and discuss a chosen novel. This is a lively activity with competitions and heated debates ensuing.
Poetry meeting
Staff and students come together to read their favourite poems with a different theme each month.
Readathon
During one of our world book days, Middle School boys took part in our annual readathon raising £1, 332.05 for the Sergeant Fund, helping children in Northern Ireland with leukaemia. A very enjoyable and worthwhile event for both students and staff involved.
