Admissions : Scholarships & Bursaries
A Summary: 2012
Years 8 & 9
The Board of Governors has made available bursaries to attend high performance in both the AQE Ltd CEA or the PPTC (NI) GLA examinations. Pupils who achieve scores in the top 20% of either examination will receive a bursary of £1,000 for both Years 8 and 9, and those achieving scores in the next 20% will receive a bursary of £500 for both years; full details may be obtained from the Bursar’s Office.
In addition for exceptional music students, Scholarships for lesser amounts are awarded for Years 8 and 9.
Year 10
Up to 30 students may qualify for an Academic Bursary of £500 for Year 10. Qualification will be based on internal examinations at the end of Year 9.

Years 11 & 12
Up to 30 students may qualify for an Academic Bursary of £500 for Years 11 & 12. Qualification will be based on 3 special papers and internal examinations at the end of Year 10. Pupils must apply to be considered for this Bursary.
Years 13 & 14
Bursaries of £500 will be awarded to Sixth Form students as follows:
- Academic Top 5 pupils based on GCSE results (award for year 13 &14).
- Music Achievement of Grade 7 of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
- Vocational & Arts Awarded to those who show exceptional talent in their field.
- Sports To those achieving representative honours or achieving an exceptional level of performance at provincial level.
University
Grants of up to £1,000 per annum (for a maximum of 4 years) will be made to boys who achieve Oxbridge entry.
The decisions of the Board of Governors are final and all awards are in the gift of the Board of Governors.
