Campbell College Junior School was officially opened on Friday 15 September by Sir John and Lady MacDermott.
The MacDermott family’s connection with the College spans over 100 years; four generations of the family either served on the Board of Governors or presided over the Old Campbellian society. Indeed, the MacDermott Wing was named after Sir John’s father, Lord Mac Dermott, in recognition of 25 years of service to the Board.
The newly built Junior School has been described as a “quantum leap forward” in design and in the provision of environmentally friendly accommodation. The School features state-of-the-art ventilation, insulation, heating and acoustic systems; the new school stands as a practical example of what it means to be energy efficient.
The official opening celebrations included the Board of Governors, Junior School staff and parents as well as the 146 children from Kindergarten - Prep 7.
