News: 2005-2006
2005-06 was a year in which pupils and staff stood on top of Mount Alpamayo in Peru, in which pupils have performed Perfection City in the new Drama Studio, in which our 1st XV took us all the way to the Schools’ Cup Final, in which our golfers won the Ulster Matchplay Championship and competed nobly in the All-Ireland Final at Kinsale GC; a time in which our 1st XI lined up against the 1988 GB Olympic Gold Medal winning team at an opening match on the new All-Weather pitches.
And then there was the CCF, the Shooting section won the Ashburton Eight, The Marling Team and they have brought enormous trophies home from Tri Services, NISAAM and Bisley competitions.
School Assemblies have heard of the remarkable deeds of Jason Harvey, James Ferguson, Peter Caruth, Adam Walker and Alan McKee and we, as a community, have welcomed Lady Sylvia Hermon, Professor Roger Williams, and President Mary McAleese as guests to the College.
