Ulster Schools’ Show Jumping
On Saturday 17 November Belfast Royal Academy hosted the first round of The Ulster Schools’ Show jumping Championships at Knockagh View Equestrian Centre.
The show proved to be a great success with record entries. Schools from all over the province (even as far as Donegal) made the journey to compete at this prestigious competition which will determine who will be ‘Ulster Champions of 2007-08’.
There are three categories at each show, an individual competition (80cm), a novice team event (85cm) and an open team event (1m).
The individual competition proved to be a great success; Harold Megahey, Year 9 Ormiston, and David Gibson, Year 9 Glenmachan, had 2 very fast times in the jump but unfortunately this did not prove to be fast enough for Laura Fekkes from Ballyclare High School who had the fastest time of the day with 20.31 seconds and won the competition.
