CCF Royal Navy win the Boson Class
The Royal Navy CCF Sailing team travelled to Portsmouth in September to compete in the CCF National Regatta against 35 top-sailing schools from across the UK. Competition was tough, with many international sailors from Great Britain and Ireland.
The CCB team comprised of Ross Vaughn, Year 13 Price’s, and Josh Baird, Year 13 Allison’s in the Boson Class and Johnny Hill, Year 12 Davis’s, in the Pico Class.
Johnny Hill performed most creditably in the Pico Class making the final but finished outside the medal positions.
The College Boson team finished in first place after the seven race regatta; a remarkable result as this is the first time that the College has won the Boson Class and only the second time that the trophy has been won by a Northern Irish school.
