Year 14 Business Studies students were runners up in the Rensburg Sheppards / Business Telegraph Fantasy Share race, in which a total of 33 schools from across Northern Ireland participated. The Business Telegraph described the 25% return on our students chosen shares as ‘respectable’ but given the prevailing economic climate and uncertainty surrounding the Stock Market, they would see this as more like ‘an amazing return’. Having been given a notional sum of £100,000 to invest in a portfolio of shares drawn from the FTSE 350 the students actually led the race for a number of weeks and throughout the competition remained in the top 4 for the duration, eventually finishing second, winning £250 of HMV vouchers.
