LAFTA Winning Old Campbellian
Chris Thompson, who left the College after successfully completing his A Level exams in June 2008, has won the acclaimed ‘Best Overall Entry’ at the LAFTAs earlier this month.
The Language and Film Talent Awards (LAFTA), which were judged by Sir Trevor McDonald and Eddy Izzard, were held in the British Library, London on 26 September 2008; the theme of which was ‘Roots in Language’ and many foreign ambassadors from around the World were in attendance.
The categories included, People’s Choice, Best Group, Best Individual, Judges’ Favourite and Best Overall Entry. Chris’ film was called ‘KAIJU SKETCH’ meaning ‘Gigantic Monster’ in Japanese and gained him two tickets to visit Leon or Brussels or Paris as well as a state of the art camera (worth £1,700).
