News: 2008-2009Summer SMILE
Stephen Browne, Year 13 Dobbin’s certainly had a memorable summer of 2008. As part of group of young people, Stephen gave up a week of his school holidays to volunteer as an aid worker in Romania. Working with the charity SMILE Stephen was heavily involved in building new accommodation for many of the neediest families in Romania. Stephen found this experience both harrowing and rewarding, as he gained remarkable insight into some Europe’s most deprived living conditions and the humanitarian efforts being carried out by charitable organsations. |
