News: Swimmers lift Gold
Intermediate Medley lift Gold at the Grove
Campbell College had a good day at the Grove Swimming Complex on Saturday 17 November 2007 with many “personal best” times being recorded. 20 swimmers competing at Junior, Intermediate and Senior levels reached the finals in all six team relay races.
The best performances were the intermediate freestyle team relay. Patrick Brines, Year 11 Lytle's, Tim Rickard, Year 12 Davis's, Josh Baird, Year 12 Allison's, and Sean McLaughlin, Year 12 Armour's, came second to Methody College in a closely fought contest. The same team lifted the pace and turned the table in the medley team relay winning the gold medals. All other teams competed well but finished outside the medal positions.
CCB lifted the “Intermediate trophy” for the most overall points.
It should be noted that Andrew Brunt and Jonathan Siri (not competitive swimmers) turned out and admirably represented the school.
