Cadet Rifle Meeting 2007
Over the weekend 21-23 September, the Shooting Team represented Campbell College CCF at The Northern Ireland Inter Service Cadet Rifle Meeting at Magilligan Training Centre. This competition is open to cadet teams from ACF, CCF, ATC and SCC units.
The A team consisted of Gary Weir (Capt.) Year 14 Chase’s, Neil Thompson, Year 14 Allison’s, Richard Deane, Year 14 Allison’s, and David Budden, Year 13 Price’s.
The B team members were Adam Webster (Capt.) Year 14 Chase’s, Philip Newman, Year 14 Lytle’s, Patrick Hunter, Year 13 Armour’s, and Ian Harte, Year 12 Price’s.
There were 30 teams participating and Campbell College finished the weekend in 1st place overall – winning all the team and individual events.
Individually, Neil Thompson and Gary Weir were placed 1st and 3rd.
Six out of our eight firers were placed in the top ten: an outstanding achievement.
- Gary Weir presented the Champion Unit Shield which Campbell has won for seven consecutive years.
- Neil Thompson presented The Champion at Arms Shield
- Adam Webster presented the Schools’ Snap Shooting Trophy
- Richard Deane presented the Marling Trophy
- Philip Newman, David Budden, Patrick Hunter, Ian Harte, Grant Buchanan and Chris Duly presented two trophies from Bisley – The Royal Irish Rangers Trophy and the Inniskillings Trophy.
