Swimming Championships
Ulster Schools' Swimming Championships: January 2007
Junior swimmers Patrick Brines, Year 10 Norwood, and Luke Scott, Year 10 Ormiston, made the finals in the individual events and Patrick lifted the Bronze medal for the 100m backstroke event.
The Junior Relay Team: Patrick Brines, Patrick McClean, Year 10 Glenmachan, Luke Scott, Robert McClay, Year 10 Belmont, and Jed Farquharson, Year 10 Cairnburn, finished second and third in the Medley Team Relay and Freestyle Team Relay respectively.
Senior swimmers Dale McLaurin, Year 14 Knock, and Daniel Johnston, Year 14 School House, made the finals in the 100m Freestyle event although both finished outside the medal positions.
The Senior Relay Team of Dale McLaurin, Daniel Johnston, Stuart Brown, Year 13 Chase’s, and Tim Rickard, Year 11 Davis’s, finished fourth in both the Medley Team Relay and Freestyle Team Relay.
Irish Schools' Swimming Championships: February 2007
All the above swimmers qualified for the Irish Schools’ Championships in February and Patrick Brines made the final of the 100m Freestyle.
Patrick was also offered a place on the Ulster Schools’ Swimming Tour to Tenerife in November 2007. Only the top ten girls and top ten boys of his age group in Ulster are offered these places.Conratulations Patrick!
