Improving communication with parents.
Communication is vital but it is never good enough; the College recognises this axiom as we continue to strive for improvement and progression. The needs of the environment and the financial costs associated with school mailings are further factors that influence thinking as we seek to reduce costs and our carbon footprint.
The importance of assured communication is fully recognised by the College; in order to meet the ever-increasing need for effective communication the College has employed the services of ParentMail®, a service that enables a school to send letters and messages direct to you by email and text message. The College has tested the effectiveness of this service during the course of this academic year and we believe that ParentMail® anticipates both the current and future needs of our community.
The Board of Governors have taken the decision that from September 2010 a number of school mailings will be electronic in form; these will include end of term mailings, start of academic year arrangements and communication from school clubs. There will be no charge to parents for this enhanced service.
At present, progress cards, end of year reports, issues specific to a student’s academic progress or pastoral matters will continue to be posted rather than emailed.
Text messages will be used to remind pupils and parents of Parent Consultation Evenings, school plays, Music Society Recitals, Family Services and any amendments to our Total Curriculum Calendar. If any parent wishes to receive a hard copy of any correspondence the College will be happy to make this available.
The ParentMail® service is registered with the Data Protection Registrar and guarantees that all information supplied will be kept confidential and no advertising is associated with this scheme.
College messages will be sent from the email address messages@parentmail.co.uk Please make sure you add this address to your email address book (or approved sender list) in order to prevent messages being blocked by your SPAM/JUNK filters.
