School life : Pastoral Care
Campbell places a high priority on the pastoral care of each boy in our community. We contend that boys flourish when they are known individually and feel valued within a supportive, encouraging ethos. To this end, our House system fosters a sense of belonging that not only enables boys to feel secure but also gives parents a first point of contact with staff who understand their son’s needs and value them as individuals.
There are nine Middle School Houses for day boys in Years 8-10 and nine Senior Houses for those in Years 11-14. Each House has around 45 boys with the Housemaster and House Tutor responsible for overseeing the welfare of boys in their care. Boys at Campbell are proud of their Houses and cultural and sporting pursuits are keenly contested.
At Campbell we view pastoral care as a whole school responsibility, recognising that all staff have a duty of care for ensuring the wellbeing of every boy. High expectations, hard work and mutual respect are accordingly the recurring themes of our school life.
