School Structure : The House System
One of the strengths of the College is its House system. There are nine dayboy Middle School Houses for students in Years 8 - 10 and nine dayboy Senior Houses for Years 11 – 14; Boarding house is known as School House. Each Middle School House is directly linked with one of the Senior Houses and this takes the students through the transition between different pastoral requirements as they mature from immediate post-primary into later teens.
Each House accommodates approximately 45 students with the Housemaster and House Tutors responsible for overseeing the welfare of the boys in all aspects of their College life.
The Housemaster is the first point of contact for parents for all matters whether pastoral or academic. Inter-House competitions in both sporting and cultural pursuits are enthusiastically contested and give boys the opportunity to create an identity within their House as well as their school. Boys may be identified as belonging to a particular House by the colour of their tie.
