In 2006 Campbell College opened two all weather surfaces at a gala match between our 1st XI and the 1988 GB Olympic Gold Medal Winning Team. The pitches are of a different variety to those already in Ulster and Ireland: they are sand dressed rather than water-based or sand-filled. The surface provides playing characteristics similar to water, without the high maintenance costs involved, and many believe that international matches may eventually move to these types of surfaces.
