Sports & Activities : Languages Club
Modern Languages Club
The Modern Languages Department offers a Languages Club to pupils in Years 8-10. Our very popular club takes place every Wednesday afternoon between 3.30 – 4.30 and attracts a group of around 15 highly enthusiastic language learners.
Teachers, pupils, languages assistants and some keen year 13 and 14 pupils have teamed together to produce fun and active language learning activities with the aim of providing enjoyment and raising the profile of languages within the College.
Pupils have had the opportunity to sample foreign cooking, listen to songs and take part in activities aimed at promoting the European Day of Languages. As well as learning about different cultures and countries, pupils have been able to interact in the target language with speakers of different foreign languages. We have been very active in promoting French, Spanish and German within the club and have also had a few taster sessions of Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Arabic.
The Club had been very successful and exciting to date and we look forward to future events.
