Admission to the College in Year 8 is by means of assessments provided by the Schools' Entrance Assessment Group (SEAG).   The results of the 2024 assessments will be available to access via the SEAG online portal on Saturday 25th January 2025. Please note that entry to Year 8 for day places is administered by the Transfer Office at the Education Authority and it is not possible to apply directly to the school for a place. The EA portal will be open from 28th January 2025 until 20th February 2025.

Please note that applications for day pupil entry to Years 9, 10 and 11 in September 2024 have closed and all year groups are full. 

Applications for entry in September 2025 will open in April 2025. 

Applications for a place in Years 9-11 should be made via our online admissions portal, with the following supporting documentation:

1.       Completed Application Form

2.       Two of the most recent School Reports from the current school

3.        Copy of birth certificate and passport 

4.        Covering letter to the Headmaster 

Applications are required to be made by 30th April prior to the September intake.  The Senior Management will conduct a review of class sizes in May and will decide if additional places can be considered. Parents will be notified of the outcome in June.

Applications for entry to Year 13 will be considered once the GCSE results are issued in August 2024. Applications should be made via our online admissions portal, with the following supporting documentation:

1. Completed Application Form
2. Printout of GCSE results
3. Copy of Birth certificate 
4. The most recent School Report from the current school.

On receipt of this documentation and providing a place can be considered,  the Headmaster's Secretary will contact parents to invite them to meet with the Headmaster.

SIXTH FORM ENTRY TARIFF

1. Pupils MUST have met the minimum entry requirements for each of the subjects they wish to study (see Subject Entry Tariff table) and these choices must fit into the timetable available.
2.  IN ADDITION, a minimum of 6 GCSE passes at A*-C including English and Mathematics.
3.  IN ADDITION, a minimum of 10 points at GCSE .

 GCSE points awarded as follows: A*/A = 3pts, B = 2pts, C* = 1½pts, C = 1pt,

or for English Board GCSEs 9 - 7 = 3 pts, 6 = 2pts, 5 = 1½, 4 = 1pt.

The College reserves the right not to offer a place to a student where concerns have been raised regarding attendance, punctuality, behaviour or work ethic.

Students must have a curriculum offer they can study, so meeting the subject entry tariff in at least three subjects is critical. For most subjects this is at least a B at GCSE. There is clear statistical evidence that students with a C grade at GCSE have only a small chance of attaining a good pass at AS or A2 Level.
