Boarding Joining instructions

Welcome to Boarding

A very warm welcome to the Campbell College Boarding department, I hope that students are looking forward to joining us in August 2023. This page and the documents below should provide you with the information you require.

We have set up a 'Frequently Asked Questions' section and recommend that you view this for answers to the most commonly asked questions.

If there is anything of concern or indeed if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible however you should be aware that staff will be on holiday at various points in July and August.

I look forward to welcoming you and your son to Campbell College.

Kind regards,

Bert Robinson

Head of Boarding

ARRIVAL AND START OF TERM

All new boarders should arrive on Tuesday 29th August 2023 between 9.00am and 12noon. Should travel arrangements require arrival outside of these times, please let us know.

Families will be shown to their son's room and will have the opportunity to settle the boys in and meet the boarding staff. The School Uniform Shop will be open from 9.00am - 4.30pm to purchase uniform.

There will be an informal BBQ for pupils and parents in the late afternoon and we very much hope that all new families will attend. We would anticipate parents being off site by 7.00pm to enable boys to settle into their rooms before lessons begin on Wednesday 30th August at 8.40am.

INVOICING

Invoices are split into 3 installments. The invoice for the first term’s fees will be sent to you in July, we would require this to be paid before your son starts in August.  The subsequent invoices will be sent to you in December and March.  Alternatively, if you prefer to pay the full year’s fees in one installment, please contact the finance office.

COMMUNICATION

The College uses a system called ParentMail/Iris to communicate with parents via email - further information is provided in the handbook. You will receive an email at the beginning of term asking you to confirm your details and once you do this, your account will be live. All general communication and student progress reports are sent from this site.

All work for students is set via the Virtual Learning Environment, Firefly. Parents will be able to set up a parent account for Firefly to view to view the work that is being set for their son. Information will be sent to parents on how to do this in September once all students have their accounts established.

It is recommended you download both the ParentMail/Iris App and the Firefly App from the iTunes/Google Play store.

Should you wish your son’s Guardian to be included in the ParentMail distribution list, please contact Mrs Leigh Crawford, Headmaster’s secretary.
