Why Northern Ireland?

Northern Ireland lies within the United Kingdom and boasts an education system which consistently outperforms every other region in the UK at GCSE and A Level. Combine this quality education with a traditional, family orientated community set in a stunning landscape and you have a very attractive proposition for boarding. If this is not enough to whet the appetite,  just add the fact that boarding in Northern Ireland is on average 30% less expensive than the UK counterparts and you can see why the Good Schools Guide described Campbell as a 'hidden gem'.

Campbell College sits peacefully in a 100 acre estate in the east of the city of Belfast. The George Best City Airport is located five minutes away by taxi, and Belfast International Airport 30 minutes. The College is readily accessible from the whole of the UK in just over one hour by aeroplane and it offers facilities comparable to the large English Public Schools, only at a fraction of the cost.

The Lonely Planet Guide recently cited Belfast as its top destination in the world and the United Nations cites it as the second safest city in the world after Tokyo.

Study at Campbell College provides a gateway to the wider UK education system. Its provision of recognised examination qualifications, career advice and guidance to university choice allows students access to the many opportunities afforded within the UK.

Culturally, Belfast has much to celebrate. The literary giant, author and poet C.S.Lewis attended Campbell College; and a lamp-post, which it is said inspired the one featured in Narnia, where Lucy meets Mr Tumnus, stands proudly in the College driveway. The C.S. Lewis Centre in Belfast has produced a video on the life of the author including his time at Campbell, click here to view.

The College boasts strong links with the two Northern Ireland universities; Queen’s University, Belfast and the University of Ulster. The historic campus of Queen’s University, Belfast is located 15 minutes away in the attractive, leafy suburbs of South Belfast. It is a Russell Group University, one of the UK’s twenty leading research-intensive universities, with 77% of graduates immediately progressing to graduate level jobs.

The nearby University of Ulster is also highly renowned as a teaching and research institute. Its campus will move to within 10 minutes of Campbell College with a £250 million relocation plan starting soon.
