Use of lockers and bag drops will be suspended, boys must keep their bags with them at all times, including lunch.

Where possible, equipment will not be shared. Where this is not possible, appropriate cleaning will be undertaken between usage. Class sets of books will not be used and there will be no sharing of stationery.

Boys to be outside where possible.  While there are not specifically designated areas for different year groups, they are being asked to keep their distance from people who are not in their class or year ‘bubble’.  To maximise space available, and therefore distancing, boys will be able to use the Middle School playground, the gravel pitch and Tennis Court field. 

If it is wet, or if boys choose to be inside, they can use the following areas:

·      Years 8 -10 should remain in their classrooms

·      Year 11 & 12 should go to the Junior Common Room

·      Year 13 to Sixth Form Centre

·      Year 14 to the Study Hall

To help maintain a safe environment, lunch sittings will be spread across different venues and lunchtimes will be staggered.  One-way systems will be implemented in lunch venues to avoid bottlenecks and chairs should not be moved. There will be a CARD SYSTEM in place for purchasing food, temporarily replacing the biometric system.  Cards will be issued to pupils on induction days.

To minimise numbers in any lunch venues, early and late lunches will not be organised by Key Stages, but by year groups.  The following arrangements are the same every day:

12.05 – 12.45    Early Lunch for Y8, Y9, Y11 and Y14      

Y8 – Dining Hall 12.00 - 12.20  

Y9 – Dining Hall 12.20 - 12.40

 Y11 – JCR

Y14 – Sixth Form Centre

Students with packed lunches will not be permitted to eat these in the Dining Hall.  Arrangements are as follows:

Y8 and Y9 pupils move to 4L classroom and eat lunch there (supervised by a Classroom Assistant)

Y11 – eat packed lunch in JCR or outside

1.00 – 1.40       Late Lunch for Y10, Y12 and Y13

Y10 – Dining Hall

Y12 – JCR

Y13 – Sixth Form Centre

After School Clubs, Societies and any associated activities will unfortunately continue to be suspended until such time that the College has a clear understanding of the guidelines around each activity. It is our desire to reinstate these as soon as possible.

For sporting Extra Curricular activities, such as Rugby and Hockey, the College is following the advice and guidance from the individual Governing Bodies as each sport varies.  

Games within the School Day will proceed but on an adjusted basis to comply with guidelines and will take into consideration any necessary adaptations to our academic timetable.

The latest guidance from the Department as of Thursday 6th August states that  'all children and young people will return to school full-time from the week commencing 31 August 2020.' 

Hence, on this basis there will no current need for any phasing or blended learning as all our pupils will attend full-time.

Year 8 - Year 10 pupils will be taught in 'protective bubbles' and for Year 11-Year 14 we will be endeavouring to keep movement to a minimum as per government guidelines.

The normal timetable may be slightly different to usual to allow for teaching in protective bubbles and restricted movement as per government guidelines and further details will follow. Rest assured we will endeavour to minimise any impact on pupils' learning as much as is reasonably possible.

 

Updated 16th March 2021:

Full school uniform (including blazer) will be reinstated from 12^th April for all pupils with PE kit allowed only on days when a pupil has PE/Games. 

However, we recognise that some boys will have outgrown blazers during lockdown and to purchase a new blazer at this point in the year is not practical. In such cases we will allow for the black Campbell hoody to be worn for the summer term.

All buildings and facilities will be deep-cleaned and sanitised before pupils return. Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of all key areas will take place each day to mitigate the risk of infection. Additional cleaning regimes will be implemented including cleaning of high frequency touch points such as door handles and surfaces throughout the school day. The school has the ability to deep clean any room if any suspected or actual cases emerge.

Hand hygiene remains extremely important, students will be reminded of the importance of a rigorous hygiene and hand washing practice. There will be numerous hand sanitising stations throughout the school, students will be required to use them frequently. Signage for both hand washing and sanitiser will be displayed throughout the school. We advise students and staff to carry their own pocket bottles of sanitiser too.
